Sometimes I don't feel like doing homework, so I crochet. -Story of my life. At any rate, I started work on a 19" by 19" blue square for the flag project I'm working on. Trying to make it look something like this:
This flag is actually a type of Union flag from the American Civil War. My school project is supposed to be a minimum of 30 hours, 10 hours research, 20 hours actual work, and somehow tie in with what we've been learning. Other than that, it can be pretty much anything. I decided to crochet because....well...I love crafting. But I wanted my project to have something to do with the civil war and American patriotism (since we've been learning a lot about that).
The Union actually had a plethora of different flags because one design hadn't really been set. The design I chose stuck out to me because of the pretty circle pattern of the stars.
So far I have all 35 stars crocheted, I'll sew those on once I'm done with the blue square background. (That blue and green thing at the center is actually my hook case...not my progress. Heh.)
